OVERVIEW OF The PCC at St ANdrew’s church, kirk ella

What is the PCC?

The Parochial Church Council (PCC) is the elected governing body of a Church of England parish. At St Andrew’s, the PCC works alongside the rector to prayerfully shape the vision, oversee the life of the church, and make decisions about practical matters such as worship, mission, finance, safeguarding, and the care of church buildings.

The PCC represents the whole church family, ensuring that St Andrew’s is run responsibly, transparently, and in line with Church of England guidelines and charity law. Members are elected at the Annual Parochial Church Meeting (APCM) and serve for a set term.

How does the PCC work?

Meetings involve prayer, discussion, and decision-making on church life, mission priorities, and resources.

The PCC is a registered charity, so members are charity trustees with legal responsibilities.

Members include clergy, churchwardens, elected representatives of the congregation, and others with specific roles.

How often does the pcc meet?
